Haunted Places In Goa


Goa is famous for its nightlife, beach parties, water sports, casinos and some great food. But the city has a dark side, which has been kept under wraps and for a good reason.
There are churches all across Goa. And ironically, there are too many tales of ghosts and spirits associated with them. True or rumours, but the stories of paranormal activity around these places have been in the news often. So if you are on a trip to Goa, add a different sort of adventure by visiting the most haunted places in Goa. The best time to visit Goa is from mid-November to mid-February. During this time you can enjoy beach parties at night and visit haunted places in the daytime.

1.D'mello House
Location: Santimol
D'mello house in Santimol is one of the most haunted places in Goa. The story talks of two brothers who once lived in this house. While arguing over the ancestral property, one of them killed the other. Ever since the house is rumoured to be cursed that no family will ever be able to come to a harmonious division of the estate. Also, people have reported hearing shrieking sounds at night from the house. The sounds are often linked to the spirit of the dead brother.

2. Dona Paula Beach, Goa 
Location: Dona Paula 

Dona Paula Beach is one of the tragic horror places in Goa. The beach is a famous picnic spot for tourists but is regarded as one of the most horrific places in Goa. It is associated with some tales which lend to the haunted area of this famous spot in Goa. The beach is named after Dona Paula de Menezes the daughter of a Portuguese viceroy who fell in love with a local fisherman.
Their love affair was objected to by her family and as a result, she jumped off the Cliff into the Arabian Sea. The locals narrate the story in which they have witnessed her emerging out of the sea in the moonlight wearing only a pearl necklace. Hench, this haunted beach is said to be avoided during the night.

3. Borim Bridge 
Location: Loutolim, Goa
Borim Bridge was built during the Portuguese Era, the Borim bridge joined the ranks among the haunted places in Goa when three friends narrated their tryst with the spirit of a mad woman. According to those three, they once saw a woman running on the bridge. When they came closer, she jumped into the Zuari River. But they neither heard sound nor saw any ripples in the water. Confused, they returned to their car and drove back home. On reaching home, the one in the back seat claimed that the spirit of the woman was sitting with him in the car. Ever since the bridge is considered to be haunted by the spirit of the mad lady.

4. Calvim Bridge Aldona, Goa 
Location: Carona Village
In February 2012, a sad tragedy took place which killed seven people including four students. The students were expected to cross the bridge and board Carona - Calvim ferry to reach their island homes. Even today, if you travel here in the dark hours then you will surely hear ghostly vibes of the students haunting the place. If you feel excited then do visit this bridge, one of the horror places in Goa.

5. Three King's Church
Location: Cansaulim Village 

The Three King's Church in Cansaulim Village is the most popular haunted place in Goa. The name of the Church is based on the three scholars who went to visit Jesus in Bethlehem. However, the story about the ghosts revolves around the three Portuguese Kings who were the rulers of the place.
One of the three kings got greedy and poisoned the other two. But his subjects became extremely unhappy and the greedy kings finally committed suicide. The three kings are buried under the Church and it is said that their spirits still roam around the Church and the village.
